Does he have to be a HC?

Woody loves the smoke screens and nobody besides a select few know who the choice is. For all we know it could be someone like Tony Elliot or Tom Manning. Just not entirely sold that the coach has have to had previous HC experience.
The Lincoln Riley case baffles me… he stood on the shoulders of Stoops, who handed him a gem of a program. Has had less than desirable results given the talent gap OU possesses over other Big 12 teams.

Like winning the Big 12 3/4 years? Making the playoffs 3/4 times?

8 losses in 4.5 years?

losses to:

#3 UGA
#19 Texas
#1 Alabama
#1 LSU

and 2 to an Iowa State program that's been a tough out for anyone the last few years?

Name a big game he hasn’t choked against a solid opponent? Not saying he is not a great coach, but what has he done with less talent? He started at the top with great talent, loss in the playoffs every time. Barely makes it to the playoffs btw because of losses.

So lets do this
-As it sits currently he has 5 wins against top 10 teams in his career. Some which got blown out in other games.
-Chokes in big games.
-Never has had a great defense, look at the ppg from even unranked opponents
-Never had to build a program/has always had access to national talent.
-His teams are not dominant. Plain and simple.
-His recruiting is mediocre.

In only his second game as a HC, he took OU into the Horseshoe, and clobbered #2 Ohio State.

He's won plenty of big games.

What’s your standard for “choking”? He hasn’t been favored in a single CFP game. So the results are as expected. Unless you’re an Oklahoma fan, there’s no standard by which you could claim he’s “choked”. You might be thinking of his old boss Big Game Bob.
