re: Do you believe that Saban is leaving the University of Alabama?

I go to the games with my Godson and his grandfather. His grandfather is in the REC and has a skybox at BDS. All of the guys in the box believe he is gone and there is no changing his mind. It has nothing to do with Alabama but a personal goal of Sabans from what I have heard.

I have UT buddies here who swear its a done deal. I have other UT buddies who say they don't think so. I expect Mack Brown is out. Winning only 2 conference titles in 16 years is just not good enough for Texas. As for Saban, the only fun in it is the razzing of the Bama fans.
I'm going with staying put, but using this to drive up his salary.

He isn't leaving. Just lining his pockets.

I agree. If he leaves we have to wish him luck and appreciate what he did for us. He is the best coach in college football in my opinion and I will always be a fan of his no matter where he coaches, just don't want to lose him!

I think so, but I always expect the worst.

If 7 years is twice as long as 5 years, then you're right.
Bama math, kinda like them claiming 15 NC.

That I would buy. National champs at 3 different schools would put him on a level no one would probably reach

i hate when people say "i could care less", just cause thats how you say it doesn't mean it means what you think it means

Not really.
He's such an a-hole, it just seems that way.

I didn't originally think he'd leave but at this point I am starting to think he will. Especially the longer it goes without Bama announcing an extension and raise. No info but here are the reasons why I think he's gone:
- Texas wants to win big and win now. They're not gonna screw around.
- More money (don't think it's only about the money but doesn't hurt)
- Nowhere to go at Bama but down....he's had them at the top which is impossible to maintain forever. Fans expect it now.
- Austin >>>> Tuscaloosa
- Easier recruiting
- Easier conference=easier path to NC
- Ego. He'd win a NC there and there would be no doubt he's the greatest of all time.
- Family. Maybe it's just rumor but does he have kids and new grandkids in Austin?
- NCAA sanctions. I don't know if anything will come of the Luther Davis/Yahoo/Clinton Dix stuff but it certainly doesn't help.

Guys... I have it figured out.
Saban will be the head coach for both UT and Bama.
Kirby will run the day to day operations at Bama, while UT hires Coach O to do the same for them.

Does Saban want a bigger challenge or an easier road to the national championship at Texas?
I've seen both said by LSU fans.

Both. There is an easier path in the Big 12. But another challenge in rebuilding Texas into a power and winning a NC at his 3rd school.

he wants the challenge of building another program
but apparently bama fans really are too stupid to understand that

I'm merely stating what I've seen LSU and other fans say.
