Then you shouldn't play it here because it is pointless and incorrect. He's objectively the most successful Bengals coach of the past 25 years by far. The only way you play this card for Lewis is if you're actually looking to play this card.

Beware of kicking to the curb coaches who have been stabilizing forces in otherwise tumultuous franchises. I said the same thing before the Titans fired Jeff Fisher. When you have a shitty organization headed up by a steady and solid head coach for a long time, eventually you may take that coach for granted. Since Fisher, that Titans franchise has been wandering in the darkness. I suspect the same thing will happen to Cincy if they fire Lewis.

Likely a very good analogy. The only difference might be if the replacement coach was a "home run" hire, which is a very minimal chance, and not one I think you can afford to take if you are Mike Brown.

He would have his choice of 10 jobs next year. He's the best they're gonna do with Dalton in the fold.

I can understand the frustration, but who do you get that's better? He's done a good job with a team that was historically awful. At some point you gotta win a playoff game, but I don't think now is the time to can him.
