This is still incomprehensible to me. How on earth would the administration approve a buyout for a coordinator because the head coach was acting like a teenage girl?
They should have told O that he was stuck with Canada and refused to pay the buyout.

Well to be fair, O wanted it his way for the Troy game and look what happened. IMHO the wrong coach got canned.

Honestly, it's bad optics to do that to your HC. Even if O is making idiotic decisions, the BOS and AD shouldn't be vetoing coaching changes by the HC unless they put the university at risk. Essentially, they must let O dig his own grave and then fire him once he doesn't produce results.
If other HCs see that our administration will just overrule your picks for staff it deters them from wanting to coach here. As much as it sucks you gotta let O make his stupid mistakes and then can him when he doesn't meet expectations.

There had to be something more than just simply not seeing eye to eye considering he agreed to take less money guaranteed to leave. I know if he gets a job making so much money he will actually be paid more but that’s not guaranteed.

Administration should have stepped in fired coach ZERO, promoted Dave, and canned the rest of he Les era people that would have been upset about that. Still completely baffling that we have a 12MM buyout for the waterboy who begged for the job. How does this happen???
