Did Jimbo Fisher regret not coming last year?

It seems now that Fisher REGRETS not going to LSU, and will accept the job if offered again. Mrs Fisher said that Jimbo, really wanted to accept the job, but it was just to complicated, basically just not enough bang for the buck, especially when he would have to visits kids. She is now tentative looking at houses in New Orleans for possible move. Now, according to her he REGRETS, REGRETS not taking the LSU job!

From December 1st of last year

Is this chick crazy or what? Check her posting history.

The weird thing is, she stopped posting on the SEC rant after that last thread. Jimbo was in the middle of a divorce with his wife, which was finalized December 31st.

quote:

11/27/15 at 8:23 pm Long story short, Dad is friends with a non football coach at FSU, the coach once lived and worked in Alabama, His wife and Jimbos wife are friends, the short of it is, that according to this person, FSU is keeping Jimbo, and that things are just too complicated for Jimbo to move to LSU right now!

She also called it that he wasn't coming here in this November 27th post, validating reports that later revealed he pulled out at the last minute.

That was a full day before the A&M game, when many people were certain that Miles would be gone.

Now the question is, is this legit, or was she full of sh*t?

Then she says this

quote:

My Dad knows the Skeet and Trap Coach at FSU, and it was his wife that is friends with Mrs. Fisher. Now, who knows the truth, I don't!! I do know what has been told by two women though!

FSU has a trap and skeet club surprisingly

Now is it possible that she's making all of this stuff up? YES.

But it seems awfully close to what is already known. Fisher left Alleva and Alexander at the last minute. She seemed to know the day before the A&M game that Jimbo wasn't coming and had reasons why.

I'm not calling this gospel, but knowing what we know now, is it possible that she is telling the truth? It'd explain why Jimbo is melting everytime they ask him about the LSU job.

I'm not worried either way. Not gonna worry for 2 months over a coach staying or going.

Not saying it is, but its weird how she called it and even gave specifics on why he turned it down. Also, people troll on here all of the time. Trolls don't stop trolling though. She hasn't posted since then.

East Coast Band said in the thread that if anyone would know, its her.

And besides, sometimes people know people who post on here. Its a small world. Not beyond the realm of possibility.

I don't know why but I sense that person wasn't BSing. I always intuitively thought the child custody/divorce issue would be the biggest hurdle in getting Jimbo. The fulcrum on all of this is Candi Fisher, and if she moves back with Jimbo.

Word was candi didn't like red stick. NFw she moves back here just for jimbo. Something else would have to be worked out.

In the first quote she said Candi would be looking for houses in New Orleans. So she nailed that too.

Jimbo was coming last year, that's where she's wrong. LSU pulled the plug. King and Jindal. Really think that ship has now sailed

I don't disagree with that, and neither do these facts. I think this is what could have happened:

LSU: After all these years telling your buddies, you still want to come back?

Jimbo: Sure thing... draft up the papers, do the deed, and I'm on the plane

Jimbo internally stews, worrying about his family issues in the divorce

LSU: To themselves- "shite we are getting reamed in the press and some of our fans want Les" ... Jimbo, you still good to go?

Jimbo: Actually, can you do $X now, this is a tough decision

F-King: Alright Alright, I'm ending this shite show, I have D.C. aspirations to think about after all.

End Scene

Already agreed on more $$ for Jimbo last year. Wednesday was when Jindal put the screws to King and the plug was pulled. Boosters told Jimbo's agent to sit tight hence the Jimbo cold feet starting getting out. Moran and those ole baws even met during the 3rd quarter of the A&M game to make one last ditch effort with more $$ for the school, but to no avail. Les knew he was gone all week hence the final radio show, gridiron club goodbye luncheon, being carried off the field after, etc. He was told in the tunnel after the game "your still our coach" and was kinda shocked. If you think I don't know what I'm talking about go read the thread from Sunday. I told everyone about the meetings and that Les was 99% gone NOW. Everyone called BS and was told I was full of shite. Whatever I'm just posting what I know and was told. I hope I'm wrong about Jimbo feeling like he's over LSU but people I've talked to said that seems to be the case. There's no clear cut favorite. Jimbo is 1A and Herman is 1B

Fair enough, you seem to have some kind of intel. That's a bummer about Jimbo and hopefully we can rekindle the flame. Does it seem we'll try to go hard at him again, and generally, are we willing to drop championship coin to get an elite guy? I guess what I'm asking is, was getting rid of Les a commitment to being elite, or just to get rid of a frustrating coach?

Committed to being elite. Face it your paying a guy 9.6 mil to go away so money is no object with the new guy. Like I said they want one of those 2 guys presently. Who knows what could happen to change the current situation. I do know if it comes down to Texas and LSU I think Texas gets Herman. That's his dream job like Urban and tOSU. Also what if Houston joins the Big 12 what then will Herman wait for UT to come open? Not sure. Herman is the HOT RIGHT NOW GUY. He's a good coach but I don't think his stock can go much higher (maybe if he wins it all this year). But I feel Jimbo was the right fit here. He was all in once (last year) maybe he can be swayed. I do know this. LSU will not nor should they just settle. Too much talent, money, facilities, etc.

Agreed

I agree that there is no better fit. Jimbo is a 10-15 year coach that would go down as LSU's greatest, I truly believe that.

I hope they can sway him back, because if they can't, they very well may have to settle.

Won't settle, in fact CANNOT settle. You just ran off LSU's winningest coach and paid him 10 mil to go away. There's no way in hell you just settle. Settle would mean O running the table 9-0, 10-0, or dare I say it, 12-0 with a natty, then retaining the job. If that doesn't happen you will see a big name hire in that seat. Remember this job has everything, including a chance to prove YOU'RE THE BEST (beat Saban, win the west, etc.) so coaches out there would be a fool not to listen. The money, talent, facilities, etc. are all in place. Going to be a WOW type hire.

I want to believe that this is true.

This simply isn't going to happen.

To me a WOW type hire would be:
Herman
Jimbo
Chip Kelly
Petrino

Jimbo seems the most likely of that group though at face value it looks like that ship has sailed.

There are some "out of the blue" hires that could be made that would be WOW hires. Names that haven't surfaced that would be home runs.

The rest of the names that have been thrown out aren't wow hires in my mind.

Kiffin
Shaw
Fedora
Whittingham
Briles
Fleck
Etc

So hopefully LSU is willing to just break the bank and make it impossible for someone on the short list to say no.
