I'd be happy with chavis, but i definetely wouldn't mind an out of the blue hire, I know its definetely not likely and prolly wishful thinking but, (Jon Tenuta with a Coach O and another top postiton coach would be my wishful hire. I know is not likely at all but who knows with all the different info. Almost all the "insiders" were confident the next Dc would be Koenning and that didnt happened. Just sayin I wouldn't be shocked if it was a hire nobody expected. I know all the recent information goes against this but considering the conflicting info and how tight lipped the situation has been, who knows? And feel free to bash away bc all the info says Tenuta isn't even in the picture anymore but the same people said Koenning was a done deal. The defense will be in good hands with any of the DC's rumored to be in the mix.

Your conclusion is spot on. Now it's just down to who can say I told you so.

Belowpar said Tenuta was interviewed twice, i know hes supposed to be out of mix. If there was so much friction between miles and tenuta i dont see why he would of interviewed him again this year if the interview went as bad as people say it did last year. I may be completely wrong bc i havent heard anything about how his interview went this year. He is my wild card pick. JMO

Tenuta . . . hmmm.

I kind of forgot about him, but it does make some sense at this point. He was coaching Notre Dame in a bowl game, so it makes sense to keep it quiet.

Tenuta and Coach O. Wow. We need a solid DB coach to make sure that we land Janzen Jackson.

so its not a done deal? I guess miles is putting on a full court press?

I could see after miles interviewed Tenuta he could have possibily chose him and that would be the reason for being quiet and maybe go through the rest of the interview process and maybe some of the insider info is actually the people that are getting the other interviews. Insiders speculate too. Maybe Miles is keeping his poker face for the Tenuta Coach O wild card. Pure hope and speculation on my part.

It seems to me that Chavis must really want this job or he would have taken the Clemson job already.

No hear me out, I am just repeating what Belowpar said about 2 week ago.. That Chavis was really the guy Miles wanted all along.

According to my source yesterday, Alleva said on the phone (whoever the choices are) "are secured" and we will be happy. "rest easy"

So in my mind Chavis is the guy I expect to be announced, because Par said that is who Miles wants. I figure he gets his man? Dunno for sure

But at the time, 2 week ago it was far from done, but he said the O thing was real close to being done. (so it seems reasonable to conclude that O is coming on board)

Drawing a straight line:

I am expecting Chavis and O with a DB coach hire as well (which somebody said it was a former LSU NFL DB)

That is just Apex talking which means nothing!

I read on a Vol board that Chavis was looking at some opportunities in the NFL..

More people are calling chavis than LSU and clemson

What are the chances that clemson hasn't found their choice yet or is waiting to announce for some reason?

Miles wants Chavis becasue he is one of the best DC's in college football (played him three times), and can build a long term defensive powerhouse in this leagure with the right talent -- which we have. Tenuta is a high risk to alienate everyone, Walker will bolt as soon as a HC job comes his way, and O is out of his element past a position coach and recruter. Chavis should be the Number 1 choice and I hope we get him.

yeah, he must really want a job that will not be announced until after the bowl games or else he would've taken another job that won't be announce until the bowl game. got it

Aren't there other dc's believed to be in the running for clemson other than chavis?

Well the Clemson boards are thinking they have a shot at Kevin Steele at Alabama if they don't get Chavis..

I think the bowls are holding everything up

It will be George Edwards, LB coach for the Miami Dolphins. Miles wanted him here before, and now he will get him. Also, O is coming too.
