how is that even possible? He's not coached there in 4 years. He doesn't have any pull (or shouldn't).

I'd tell Chip to stfu and continue not developing/evolving as an NFL coach and let us worry about who we're going to hire.

(unless by "throwing a wrench in it" you mean he wants the job...and if that's the case then, I'd give him a deadline b/c he can't hold the program hostage while he decide if he might take the job or not)

Dan isn't a realistic candidate at Oregon.

No one could be an amazing recruiter at Moo State. Put him at LSU and he would suddenly be known for recruiting prowess.

Again, you don't know what you're talking about. Best of luck with the coaching search.

Look, I'd rather have Chip or Fleck. However, if you don't think Oregon could lure Mullen than I want you're smoking.

I certainly don't wish to seem insensitive to that, but you're leaving out the part that clarifies the "wrench". Has he been offered the job and due to circumstances has requested more time to consider? That would make sense.

I didn't think you were being insensitive. Seems he is reconsidering.

It has nothing to do with Oregon being able to lure him. I don't think Oregon or anyone else will feel like Mullen is worth 5 million plus per year. That's what it's going to take. He makes 4.2 million a year currently, his ego won't allow him to move on without a decent size raise.

not really, see my post above. Just would have to get lucky and find a solid coach to come in and replace him. We are in a lot better spot than when we had to replace Croom.

+1 Completely agree.

Also, I think Trent Baalke is gone. Is that a plus or negative for Chip? I think that'll determine if he stays or not.

6 million would do it. Would also make Oregon the biggest suckers in college football.

Oregon hires Mullen for 6 million, State hire Fleck for 4 million. LOL's all around.
