Was he? I thought he played QB last year, too? I don't follow them closely, but I do follow Memphis (from the area), and when they played Houston last year, they had a young athletic QB who torched their D. Memphis actually had a great D last year, too. He could option run, but was an erratic passer. I thought it was the same guy, but I could be wrong.

the QBs at:

all have more rush attempts than Auburn QBs have.

I completely expect Miles to be fired. I'm just saying it isn't official until the press conference and paperwork, no matter what is said and done behind closed doors. It's semantics, but those pesky details get people sued and fired all the time.

saw this earlier. emphasizes a physical offense that is still balanced. even though it is shotgun and no huddle it is still big boy football. don't know what else i could ask for.

edit: this would be a nice system for harris.

Johnson didn't pan out. Their backup isn't a runner, so Gus had to adjust. Have you noticed how their offense has looked without that dimension? Or how Kelly's has looked without it in the NFL. You can't run a spread option without a QB who is a legit running threat.

I said that State, OM, and UT did plenty of QB run. That doesn't make them spread option teams.

This is bull crap. You think that a firing needs to made public information right away? Fricking USC fired Kifin before he got on the plane, you think they set up a podium at the airport? Show me where it states that in a law book.

I don't want people to cringe but he hypothetically walks into an absurd amount of talent to run his preferred offensive philosophy. I have no doubt that he is the type of play caller that plays to the strengths of his skill position talent.

Ok. So a Power 5 school in today's information society is going to fire a guy, and then let him coach another fricking game without saying a word? Or fire him and wait for days to announce it? Please. That would get out and it would be a PR disaster far beyond anything we've seen today.

point is, most schools are doing a little more than just "qb run wrinkles"

Dak, Chad kelley, josh dobbs are all in the top 10 in rushing TDs in the conference and will all finish with well over 100 carries on the season. or about as much as Mariota/Darren Thomas/Masoli averaged at Oregon per season.

My source is telling me that this is a plot to quiet the media circus (local and national) and that we are 100% well aware of the Sexton/Saban to Texas deal and have made the right moves for Jimbo to come to LSU.

Was also told that Miles did not go quietly but was not in the position to negotiate the exit but that we have worked outa package for him. Lastly was told that it has been an old festering wound after the 2012 title game and the Arkansas plot for a raise really effectively strained Allevas and the TAFs support for Miles pretty badly.

In 2011, Derron Thomas ran the ball 20 times less than Jordon Jefferson did. And Jefferson played like half the year. I think you are overselling how integral a running QB is to Chip's offense.

And I would imagine Oregon ran probably 1.5 times as many plays as LSU per game that year.

Sounds plausible and you went the extra mile by stating who your source was when most don't even do that.

Thanks for the info.
