They let him walk at OU

quote:

Unfortunately, his players rarely demonstrated improvement — and at times seemed to regress — during his tenure, with the most common complaint being that the DBs (and particularly the cornerbacks) rarely had success making a play on the ball as it approached them. If you listened closely on a fall Saturday, you could likely hear the sound of people yelling “TURN AROUND!” as you sat on your back porch in Oklahoma City.

I thought it strange that the guy had been demoted 3 times over the last 3 years.

Here we are… thanks BK.

Cooks isn't the CB coach and Raymond had an offer to stay, but he chose to go.

Well this is certainly not ideal.

You don’t even know what position Cooks was brought in for. He may be an analyst for all we know.

The DC hire may be a DB coach.

Wanting the Texas tech / Oklahoma defensive anything is scary, considering he’s replacing Raymond

People are going to turn on kelly with the quickness.

We don’t know what specific position.. but we do know he will be a DB coach.

Call a spade a spade. This is a major downgrade.

If he choose to leave his alma matter, then something was wrong here.

And if this is the best we can do as a coach as DBU, then that’s a damn shame.

I’m not melting. I’m just being honest. CR leaving hurts.

this board is too much. We go from Woody is a shite AD for missing on Riley to Woody is god again for hiring Kelly. Then we go from Kelly is great to Kelly sucks because no assistant coaches have been named to Kelly is a god for hiring Wilson, and now we are back to everyone turning on Kelly.

I am not a fan of losing Raymond but we haven't even seen how the final staff will look when it's all said and done. Everyone needs to take a deep breath around here.

Something has BEEN wrong here off and on for multiple years. Raymond has been here through all of it. Maybe Kelly sees him as part of the problem, rather than a piece of the solution.

Kelly needs to swing a lot harder than the guy we know about to replace Raymond, but let’s see what the whole defensive staff looks like before we start another round of the LSU bipolar fanbase up and down cycle.

I’m not saying losing Raymond is the end of the world. Honestly, we kept missing on recruits.

But, Cooks is a downgrade.

The carousel hasn’t stopped spinning. Hopefully it doesn’t stop with this guy coaching corners.
