I am hoping we get him by friday so that Campbell comes here. I think Coach O is a big part of his decision due to the rivals interview. And O would make our D line unstoppable.

Why is everyone so high on this guy. He did a piss poor job at the Saints this year. All this talk about his recruiting....we are #1 right now in it. Why talk so highly of him?

He coached some pretty good d-lines at Miami and USC.

Pete Carroll and Nick Saban sucked in the NFL too.

Agreed. LSU is #1 w/o coach O. LSU will already get most of the talented players in LA. Who, in the past, chose to go to Ole Miss over LSU b/c coach O?

AS HEAD COACH

Both were great DBs coaches.

I don't think the DL was the Saints problem.

Well rantards claim Pevito was an ace recruiter, so we need another one to replace him.

Seriously he is widely considered one of if not the best college DL coach and recruiters of the past ten years.

I agree but why talk so highly about him. Why is Chavis only a great hire if we get him?

Because need a knockout recruiter for the defensive side of the ball...as of now all the great recruiters are on the offensive side of the ball, including Miles, who is a offensive minded coach. Its a lot easier to recruit a defensive prospect with a defensive coach don't you think? Be kind of hard for DJ and Porter constantly making in-home visits to sell the defense, when they don't even coach the defense.

Ole Miss didn't steal anyone from us under O's tenure, but he did significantly upgrade their talent.

However, we will continue to be in wars with Saban for LA talent. Thus far we have won them, O will help to maintain that and cherry pick OOS guys.

I didn't remember Ole Miss having that dominant of a D-line. USC should always have a dominant D-line considering the talent they have every year.

Obviously this is an exageration, but our team did miss the on the field intensity of Pelini. Chavis coaches from the box and is not a firey guy. O will compliment Chavis nicely as the on the field guy that jumps kids asses when the screw up and bear hugs them when they do good.

Ole Miss' dline over the past 2-3 years has been their strength- Greg Hardy, Peria Jerry, Marcus Tillman, etc.

They didn't have it prior to Carrol/Ed O.

Which is exactly why you do not want Tennessee to get him.
