I expect it to be Neilsen as DC. He's hired both coaches and analysts by way of the Saints. So Neilsen is most likely the hire.

Big want. I don’t know why he gets down voted. When his name is mentioned.

Well, Nielson coached with O at USC in 2004, then followed him to Ole Miss from 2005-2007, so they’re definitely boys! And unlike most of Os boys, this guy is both young and extremely competent and accomplished. He was nominated for the Broyles in 2015 and is a hell of a recruiter!

If he hires him it has nothing to do with his affiliation with the Saints. Ryan was Ed’s dline coach when Ed was the head coach at Ole Miss.

He isn't being considered. Common thought is he said no thanks because he is being pursued for an NFL DC job.

Can he run an entire defense tho?

I don’t know much about him other than he’s a highly regarded DL coach.

Id say 4 years under Dennis Allen has got him ready. He knows the 4-2-5/5-1-5 that Saints run inside and out and I think it’s the closest think O will get to his 4-3 vision in the day of modern Offenses.

I’d imagine he’d finish the season with the Saints before really considering it or speaking to it. Those NFL guys do prefer to stay in the NFL though for sure!

I’d think he could go from a DL to college DC to NFL DC pretty quickly.

They downvote this even though it's true, but everyone believed the "mason will be announced monday" guy for absolutely no reason, even though his 10 page thread included him admitting he made it up.
