Co-dc option

Why don’t we just do a co-dc with:
Ryan nielson and Corey raymond
Let nielson run the front 7 and blitz/run packages and raymond handle the secondary and passing schemes
Then hire a linebacker and safety coach

If Nielsen would accept I wouldn’t be opposed to this. But I also think Nielsen could do it on his own. He is likely going to be an NFL DC soon.

I thought the word was that Nielson wasn’t interested. If he wasn’t interested in DC, why would he want co-DC?

OH NO. Something that failed in 2008 may not work in 2021 with totally different humans involved!!!
Go look at coaching staffs around the country. There is no such thing as traditional coaching roles any longer. They have PGC, RGC, CO-everything, ILB coaches, OLB coaches, safeties coaches.
It's about the people, not the system or what "slot" they fill.

That’s because they were both fricking idiots. We know Raymond is a great DB coach and I imagine that a guy on the rise with the Saints isn’t going to be Mallory or Peveto, either
