Sources tell ESPN that Tennessee is in the process of trying to finalize a deal with Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt after offering him the job earlier in the day. Vols also interviewed Auburn DC Kevin Steele and Georgia DC Mel Tucker

Nothing is finalized but Tennessee has offered the job to Jeremy Pruitt and is trying to close the deal with him.

The other two finalists have been told that Pruitt is who Fulmer has offered the position

Meh but it's not surprising that he won the battle of DCs. They'll sell him as Kirby 2.0 to polish up the turd of a search.

Horrible hire, they've been irrelevant for almost two decades and they hire this guy??

Love how Fulmer had to hire a Bama boy.

This is a hire Mississippi State would do, not Tennessee...but could work out in the end.

Just curious, has the Tennessee job fallen so low that they can't hire an established head coach anymore, so they are forced to gamble on a coordinator? Very Apparently?

They could've gotten a decent sitting HC if they hadn't started stepping all over their own dicks. It certainly seems Currie had Brohm and Leach lined up before that got tanked.
