As much as I’d love to see Florida screw this up, no coach in their right mind chooses UCLA/Pac-12 over Florida/SEC.

Lol, ugh not true at all. First off Gainesville is a pretty crappy low income town in the middle of nowhere really. 2ndly, the Sec is tough to win even with top talent you are competing against at least 5 of the top 10 coaches in the country and at least 5 of the top 10 most demanding fan bases.

UCLA would offer everything you need to routinely win the PAC 12 and make the playoff. That's all any coaches really want. If he could do well at Oregon, he could do even better at UCLA.

Some people just prefer living in certain regions. Hard to blame people really.

Again, Kelly already knows where he wants to coach next season. This is all about squeezing that school for as much as he can get. Any "deadline" in place is simply just to escalate the negotiations.

You think Shannon can't get a legit DC or position coach job making more money than an analyst????

If randy shannon wants to stay at a big program to feel special then anaylst might just be what he needs to do. He isnt any better than any other DC or LB coach out there. Other than adding color to the recruiting trail.

Anyway...how much are analyst at big programs being paid?? It's a new thing really, so what 200-500k range?? Pretty simple gig for that.

Recruiting ties may be the main reason UF wants to keep Shannon.

Rumor is Shannon will be kept on by UF in some capacity if Chip doesnt want him. I highly doubt they push ACs on any incoming HC to the point of it being a deal breaker.
