Canada's offense at NC State was more spread/more dual threat

I have been seemingly critical of Canada's system, primarily do to the seemingly heavy pro style lean at Pitt in 2016. After watching film/video/games from NC State 2015, he shows more of what I'd like to see here at LSU.

- There was little zone read.
- More spread than at Pitt
- More of willingness to throw the football
- More Dual threat friendly
- Willingness to spread the football around

If Canada is our guy, and if he adjusts adequately to SEC strengths and size, it could get interesting.

The players will dictate how the offense looks. With Etling as our starting QB and Guice as our RB, I predict our 2017 O will look very similar to what Pitt did this year.

I think Etling would fit in his current system next year since he has a year of SEC experience, but Scott or Narcisse (if it isn't too late to get him back) would be really intriguing in a DT based scheme starting in 2018.

I agree that he can fit this system to any personnel. I for one do not think you have a chance of beating Bama with a Dual Threat QB. I would like to see use of these Dual threat guys this year. We will smash the usual suspects, with Bama, you gotta do more.

With that being said, I'm going to have to get over the fact that we are not getting our "spread guy".

I understand where you are coming from, but what do you think the likelihood that McMillan or Scott legitimately beat out Etling? I mean, it may be possible, but I would be surprised. As for Narcisse, he may be talented enough, but with his injury history, he needs a redshirt year in S&C to get his body ready for SEC play. It would be reckless if the staff to throw him out there next season.

Beat Bama bro! Beat bama! if we are not setting ourselves up for that, then what was this all for. Jalen Hurts did it. We need a dual threat to beat bama. It aint gonna happen any other way IMO

Have an upvote. Everything is measured by our performance against Saban. Just like Spurrier in the 90's, you design your team to beat Saban.

I hope they are talented enough to beat out Etling

I'm tired of just wanting a game manager

I want full confidence and ability in the qb play

I want a new direction

The QB @ Pitt they have committed for this year is a pro style guy. Not sure which Canda offense type he "prefers" but it does look like he changes what he does to fit his players. Nice concept.

The offense fits either style. He'll have 2 pocket passers and 2-3 duals. It will be interesting

He ran the spread pretty effectively at State, especially considering the talent level. Could be very effective with the athletes Tigers have
