The portal window is 1/2 - 1/16.
Semifinal games are 1/8 and 1/9 with championship being 1/19. Quarterfinals are over on 1/1.
LSU cabln cross that bridge when they get there and force Kiffin's hand, at that point. There's no reason for any ultimatums at the moment.
LSU can just let it play out, Ole Miss loses in 1st round and then misses nothing with the portal, while still looking like "good guys" for letting Kiffin continue to coach his team.
If LSU is all in on Kiffin, you just ride it out since you are likely screwed, either way, with option 2.
LSU and Kiffin should be making Ole Miss the "bad guys", here.
