Stud as OC, Fuente as QB coach/Co-OC (essentially being groomed for the job)
I wouldn't be as disappointed. The most glaring problem with our offense, to me, has been our inability to bring in someone who can truly groom talent at QB.
Could we do better? Yes. Could we do worse? Most definitely.

If it delivers Fuente I'm okay with Stud for a year
Stud in the box, Fuente on the field?

Stud wouldn't be going anywhere so you expect him to eventually turn playcalling duties over to fuente?

At a major university like LSU, we will go from bad to worse! He can't even get the O Line together. Now he's goNna run the O

That's where the logic starts to fail in the scenario. Also, why would Miles turn over the playcalling to a guy who hasn't done it in years as opposed to the guy with a more recent body of work?

Or it's just a promotion for stud with Fuente doing the play calling. Miles does his assistants well.. who knows.. maybe Stud has expressed interest in being an OC again, what better springboard than a co-OC job at LSU. It could easily put him to a school like Maryland, USF, etc.
That being said I hope miles doesn't frick around.

The co-dc thingy worked so well I see Miles jumping at the chance to have more co-coaches

leave calling plays at TCU in BCS games to come watch Fat Albert and Les bumble their way around some play calls? Sounds enticing.

you trying to say that Miles doesn't give his assistants fluffed up titles like 'passing coordinator'?

i think he is saying that "stud" will not be OC.
I hope that is the case.
