I know Spurrier's name is all that, but what has he done better than Butch Davis. Frankly, I believe BD would be a wiser choice.

BD just signed a new deal with UNC..

butch davis is the better choice. coach spurrier is in the twilight of his coaching carrier. butch davis has already done the pro thing, and i think he would stay at lsu for a long time.

I agree, but I don't think he'll leave UNC.

He's really my first choice among incumbent Division 1A head coaches. I still like the idea of Cowher, but understand it's a longshot, at best. If Del Rio and/or Gruden are interested, obviously we give them a look, but I believe that the situations have changed in both places since we last hired a head coach.

Last I heard, he agreed in principle but has not signed. That could have changed over the weekend.
