Agreed.
I am no CheeriO, but an AD overriding a HC staff hire is complete bullshite.
Maybe in the case of Freeze or Briles where character and reputation could be a valid concern, not saying I agree with those decisions btw, a case could be made for an AD to step in.
But just because an AD doesn’t think he’s “good enough” or whatever, that’s borderline tortious interference imo.
Especially when that AD doesn’t have any experience whatsoever in coaching, much two brain cells to rub together.

Here's where you're wrong. First, the AD can, and should have say-so on a firing that will result in millions having to be paid. Especially after one year, Two, the HC promised to hire "the very best coordinators." Does Ensminger fit that description? The AD can, and should hold the HC to his promise.
