I think the ND holier-than-thous tolerated him being an a-hole while they were winning, but that shine has worn off

They should seriously consider Miles. He could recruit his arse off at Notre dame and never gets pissed on the sidelines.

What makes him an a-hole and why does that matter to anyone? He's been a successful coach in the past. He didn't forget how to coach. I think it's clear that ND is simply a difficult place to win nowadays. If ND is serious about football it'll have to lower admissions standards for players. Otherwise it'll just keep changing coaches every 5 years.
