Scott Woodward was hired as AD for this exact moment. There is absolutely no way possible that he will stake the entire reputation of his career on a hire like Bill O'Brien for the head coach of the largest revenue source of the university, excluding tuition. Woodward is also notorious for leaking misleading info to throw the media off his trail. He understands that confidentiality is a must in order to make any of these negotiations with existing coaches possible. We saw this exact scenario play out in the baseball HC hire. Jay Johnson was nowhere on anybody's radar. I think we'll be alright.

I'm not sure. I saw Rece Davis suggesting the hire but never saw him say he had any info on it. I think I read that Bruce Feldman may have claimed he had info on it.
