re: Better hire - Sumlin at A&M or Freeze at Ole Miss?

Tough call. A&M is getting thrown into the grinder, Ole Mrs is already in it with it set on "puree".

Frankly I don't see either school doing well for a while. I give Ole Mrs credit for getting an up and coming coach they didn't have to break the bank over.

A&M has the ability with their recruiting base to develop a hard nosed program that can at least begin to match up with the West heavyweights. The guy they hired if he tries to follow his Houston model won't do anything but set A&M football back a decade IMO.

They should have hired Chavis or Smart IMO. Defensive minded guys who know what it takes to compete.

I think a&m going to sec will definitely boost recruitin in Texas and out of state. Summon already knows Texas coaches, but now he has a big school in sec card to play. I think he wil recruit well. Longhorns have had a few down years. Plus he want getting handed a horrible team that was 2-10 or something like that.
Just my thought

Both hires blow, but Sumlin would be the best of the two.
