Best evidence for why it will/won’t be Riley

Taking a step back and thinking out loud here…
Why it WILL be Riley:
Oklahoma/Riley have had every reason to shut down the rumors by putting out a definitive statement or announcing an extension, particularly during rivalry week and with OU still in the playoff hunt. But they haven’t. Highly unusual and a big flashing sign that he’s on his way out.
Why it WON’T be Riley:
On paper, LSU is a better job but it’s entirely plausible for him to stay at Oklahoma since his family seems happy there and he’s still pretty well paid. And the absolute lack of credible reporting suggesting Riley is in talks with LSU (apart from message board anons) should put all of us on high alert for being trolled. Keeping a total media blackout on something this high-profile, with so many moving parts, is almost impossible these days. (I do PR for a living so I’m not talking out of my arse here.) I know we all think Woodward is a genius but it will truly be a master stroke if he gets Riley.

FWIW, I think it’s more likely than not that we DO end up getting Riley. Just trying to look at the situation realistically and keep from getting too disappointed if we don’t.

For an expert opinion, I think you should ask dallastiger55 on his thoughts

RILEY HAS $25 mil buyout.
No. That’s what Oklahoma would owe him if they fired him. LSU would have to pay much less to buy him out.

If he’s fired. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but it’s 4 if he leaves.
