With that said, Would you take back Saban? Include in his contract a hefty buy-out claus and LONG term deal....10 years +
I have to say I would..
WVMD = Yesterday's news. If he wins at Bama and proves he's still got it, maybe. But I say let him swim in the crimson pool he's created for himself.

I would take him back.
Nick's problem wouldn't be winning NCs or SEC titles...........his problem would be credibility when he proclaims at his first press conference (second regime), "I'm sorry I ever left LSU..........and I'm here until I retire."

I wouldn't have a problem with Saban coming back and being the head coach. Don't know why, but it didn't bother me when he left and it won't bother me if he comes back.
But I doubt that he will be coming back.

quote:Me too. It would mark the complete compromise of all that is decent about college football. Nick made his choices when he left; LSU does not need to be his safety net if Alabama is too hot to handle. Repeating, he made his choices. LSU would lose credibility.
I would seriously question my fandom if he came back.

No sir, that is like taking a girlfriend back that dumped you in the worst way
Done that before, but she was a freak in the sheets. But I will welcome anyone who puts on the purple and gold....even Saban.

So the man who resurrected this program, brought us two SEC trophys and a NC, recruited some of the greatest players to wear the P&G, stockpiled us with players for years after he left, and was responsible for building the facilities we have now wouldn't be welcomed back because he gave it a try in the NFL? Because he's getting paid?
No, because you can't come back. I've never hated Saban and have actually rooted for him since he left, but I am 100% against him coming back. It just would not work out. We should all be about moving forward, not trying to re-capture lightning in a bottle. Plus, at this point, he's not worth the headaches he brings. He can't sneeze without it being all over ESPN. The media hates him and are constantly lying in wait to pounce on him. Him coming back to LSU would be a p.r. nightmare and would be both embarassing for him and LSU.

I believe SOS is the best bet right now.
If right now was 6 years ago, you'd be correct, I think he just dropped 6 in a row at USC, Orgeron has a better record over the last 1/2 of the year.

He quit LSU, then quit Miami, and you want him to quit Bama to come to LSU?
No sir! The man has no loyalty. Wait until he wants to give the NFL another try.
Can you follow the bouncing ball..... :jump1:

I have no problem with either fulfilling dreams.
I hoped Nick would fare well at Miami and I wish the same to Les at UM.
I'm not one of those who despises Nick. However, I lost respect for him the way he handled his business in going from Miami to Bama. The fact it was a division rival didn't help matters, to be honest.
Would I take him back? I say why not? We know what he can do when he has talent. And as much as people want to deny it, he turned LSU into a football power again.

I agree that Saban is not the man he was when he was here, because he's not here. Name any of the previous Bama coaches that have been happy and easy going living in that sesspool and dealing with friggin Bammers. He HATED Miami and the NFL. He's been unhappy at Bama since day 1.
Put a very talented football mind in a comfortable environment and he'll be just fine.
As long as the displaced bammers who think they are LSU fans don't rape him for "not leaving a big enough tip to my cousin's girlfriend's baby daddy" or other such assorted shite.
There are very few ails that wins won't cure...

No No and another No!
There is no reason to believe he would stay here if he came back.
I had no problem with him going to the NFL. I lost all respect when he quit and ran with his tail between his legs to another job.
I would have no respect for LSU if they then hired that man who would be running with his tail between his legs back to LSU from his dismal performance at Bama.

quote:In one way, yes, what Les did could be viewed as worse. However, Nick Saban staying here until December 24 put us waaaayy off schedule. Florida hired Urban Meyer around December 4. Spurrier? November 24.
IMO What Saban did wasn't near as bad as what Les has done. And there are fans that would take Les over anybody.

oh, btw...he quit on the Spartans too -- fleeing to Baton Rouge in the middle of the night (same pattern of denials he exhibited at Miami)
