OU fans say they hit a grand slam but the facts are Riley was in the playoffs and one play from a NC game in his first year

Ever hear of Larry Coker?

Amazing the program that Coker has started at UTSA. That program keeps getting better every year.

I’d look forward to another good year or two in the Big XII and dread joining the SEC. Not unlike the prognosis with Riley.

Lebby has coached under some of the best offensive minds in the game. He’s coached under Kevin Wilson (failure as a HC but great OC), Art Briles, Heupel, and Kiffin. He has essentially taken bits and pieces from all of these guys and made it his own which is damn good. Not to mention Kendal Briles being his brother in law so I’m sure they share thoughts weekly.

ETA: Lebby did have a lot of the play calling duties and called the OM-Louisville game nearly to perfection while Kiffin was out with Covid, but Lane was the one calling plays on 2 minute drills or towards the end of the game when Ole Miss needed to win close games.

Nah, Lebby called all the plays all year long for Ole Miss. Lane had override power when he didn’t like the play. He rarely used it.

There's a huge potential for him to be like Muschamp and should have remained as DC.

Venables is high strung like Muschamp but doesn’t seem to be the negative a-hole that Muschamp is.

OU did well this silly season. Got rid of a one-dimensional coach who had reached his peak in a so-so conference and now has one hell of a coaching powerhouse lineup. LSU dodged a bullet not getting Riley.

But neither one has run a program from the bottom up. So no way to know how this will work out.

Hell, Riley hasn’t run a program from the bottom up! So, they all are in the same boat.
