Nothing against Turner Gill because I think he's a good coach and could thrive most places in the country. Auburn is not one of those places.

I think he would be a great hire for Auburn. I watched the post game interview with Gill and the guy is a a class act. I agree with what some of the above posters have said, he would be much better than Jimbo Fisher.

Auburn gets permission to talk to Gill

I think it's a brilliant move (Gill would certainly be on my list of best coaches under 50), but do Auburn fans have the patience for this kind of hire? He will not be a band-aid, but can be another 10 or 12 year solution, IF he's given the time.

Are ya'll ready for a brother on the plains?

.I would rather have Turner Gill than freaking Jimbo

Any day and twice on Sunday. Gill would be a risky, but I think ultimately, an excellent hire. I hope he gets it.

Auburn's AD already said money was no object, Auburn is suppose to be an elite SEC school, & you got a conference that has Miles, Saban, Richt, Spurrier, CUM, Nutt...& Auburn might hire the coach from Buff Bulls??? C'mon..that is insane, unless auburn thinks they are in the same category as Tulane now. I mean, what happen to Butch Davis, Mike Leach, Will Muschamp??...ooops now I just saw were Auburn has asked permission to talk to....Brady Hoke from Ball St. Hell if that is the case, there is a coach in Alabama that has done as much if not more than those two guys, right in auburn's backyard...Larry Blakeney at Troy, & he is a Auburn man..bet he would crawl to auburn..probably would coach there for free.
