I thought this was an interesting article that gives a little insight into how Brian Kelly revamped the coaching staff after the 2016 losing season. The article is about Tom Herman visiting Kelly to get advice about staff overhauls.

Why would Herman seek Kelly’s help? It’s due to the fact that Kelly is one of the few coaches in the country who has enjoyed success on the field following a staff overhaul.
quote:
Following a 4-8 season in 2016 that started with a 50-47 double-overtime loss to Texas at Royal-Memorial Stadium, Kelly fired three coaches (Brian VanGorder was relieved of his defensive coordinator duties during the 2016 season), reassigned a fourth and saw three others move on to other jobs. When the dust settled, Kelly hired six new on-field coaches and a new director of football performance.
The changes paid off immediately as the Fighting Irish won 10 games in 2017, including a Citrus Bowl victory over LSU.

Kelly as a coach is always adapting and changing. I like that a lot about him. Its why Saban is still one of the best in the game at age 70

I’m very, very excited to see the Brian Kelly era begin next fall.

I do think he will be great at lsu once he gets his system in place.
Not everyone is going to love it and you might see more players transfer out.

They’ve fallen off the map since Ehlinger said that after the big Sugar Bowl win over UGA.

The game O refused to run Guice at the 1.

Ehlinger said that but I'm referencing Joe Tessitore saying that after they beat what turned out to be a 4-8 Notre Dame in 2016

Oh, I hear you. It's just funny to think how far they've fallen since that win, which at the time was a pretty damn big deal.
