Are we giving Alleva too much credit about a makeup game?

DALSU said lately that here is basically zero chance Coach O is retained as HC. The only scenario I see where Alleva is truly compelled to retain him is if LSU wins the SEC. That pretty much can't happen if the UForfeit game is not played.
Alleva could posture and stomp his feet in public, but in private may not be so eager to get the game played.

I think the game is going to have to be played because it will especially affect who wins the east (I hope it is relevant for who wins the west but we'll see).
The bad thing? It will mean three consecutive road games to finish out the season most likely. And force short rest between the Florida and A&M game.
Given that this is about conference integrity, and both LSU and Florida are likely going to be giving up their home gates from the rent-a-wins they had scheduled, I wish they could move the A&M game to the Saturday. It probably can't happen because of television but it would be the right thing to do if they actually care about injuries and player safety like they claim they do.

On the last point, Thanksgiving day, why not ask Ole Mess and State to swap with LSU-a&m? They'd just be doing the planned swap a year early anyway.

I can't see anyway they let them play on thanksgiving if they have to play Florida the week before because of the safety issue
