I think Aranda will get everything he wants, but will stay here because he is set up for a move up the ladder as early as next year. Our defense is still going to be very good next year, where UT is a total ground up overhaul.

If the upward trajectory is important, he stays because LSU gives him a lot better shot at not taking a huge step back.

If I'm not mistaken LSU said keeping Aranda was a priority and I'm sure this was part of the discussion.He will be the highest paid DC in the country

Just a guess, Aranda keeps his Associate Head Coach label and is actually head coach in waiting and he stays

I would put the odds very high that he leaves. Why would he have love for LSU? It's just a job, and if he wants to be a head coach one day, he'll take the job in which he has the best chance for success.

LSU is now a second rate football program. He won't stay here if he has better options.
