Was Les Miles really an elite recruiter anywhere except LSU?
Brian Kelly is a very very good recruiter. He's severely hampered by academic and Geographic factors at ND and he routinely lands top 10-15 classes.
He would be a top 5 recruiter at LSU, and hire great coordinators, but I just don't think he's a good cultural fit in the South or especially at LSU, and the fanbase would revile him.

I heard Gundy's name a couple of times at the game last night.Not from anyone that would know if he was being looked at,but from some folks that are not a nobody either.

Gundy has flirted with leaving Okie Lite multiple times throughout the years.
He flirted with Arkansas back in 2013 and his name has been knocked around for years at other jobs in that region. Apparently the school admin and boosters have always been unimpressed with his recruting, especially after Pickens gave the program so much money and improved the facilties.
Kiffin is actually the perfect fit at LSU but, for whatever reason, he has never been a consideration there.
If the choices were in fact down to Kelly, Stoops, or Bill O'Brien, I think the choice is so obvious. Kelly would win 10+ games every year there and probably bring his current staff with him, which includes a very good D Coordinator.
