Aranda has more recruiting ammunition than all the other coaching candidates

Aranda has groomed recent highly successful linebackers in Devin White and Patrick Queen
Do you think Aranda will have any trouble getting the best linebackers in the country to come to LSU?
Now, if LSU has the best linebackers in the country, who will want to play beside them? How about the best defensive linemen? Even more so the best DB’s! They want to defend passes not tackle 230 lb running backs.
If you’ve recruited the best players on the defensive side of the ball, who does that attract? As an offensive player you want that extra confidence of knowing your defense will give you a chance to win the game. I think if you have a chance to get Aranda you do it.

Yuuuuup. Responded to a dude a few days ago questioning his recruiting abilities with a list of all the top players he got to Baton Rouge, crickets. Been on the Aranda train since the coaching search began. He’d have OC’s lined out the door trying to work with him. Easy going, smart, analytical, not a raging buffoon that tries to knock himself out before every game, smart, analytical

Off topic but that kid is really fricking good. But let’s be fair to Dave, that’s a recruitment he never could have won.

Aranda’s ability to teach fundamentals, keys, and reads rivals Saban. That guy could get a newcomer to football mentally ready to at least play at the D2 level after two weeks.

Aranda is a whopping 10 & 9. He is not going to get the LSU job. If he does, Scott Woodward will be ran out of town.
Forget about Aranda. He is also a piss poor recruiter.

Aranda might not be built in the typical mold of a "recruiter"... but the guy gets great talent consistently, and connects with his recruits on a very personal level. Any recruits paying attention to Dave, knows he will turn them into stars- particularly on defense and specifically linebackers.
In just a couple short years, Dave took Devin White under his wing and transformed him from a 4* running back to a top 5 NFL draft pick at linebacker.
Recruits notice that stuff, and their parents see it too.
If a coach were recruiting son, I wouldn't want said coach coming into my home blowing sunshine and rainbows up my backside... I'd want him getting to know my kid and talking about his future plans for him without all the grandstanding.
