Auburn has been wanting to shite can him for at least the last 3 seasons. His teams are Jekyl/Hyde. He lucked up and had Cam Newton as QB when he was an OC and parlayed that into 2 head coaching jobs.

He went to the sec championship game and 7-1 in the sec as oc at Arkansas.
He went to the NCG with Nick Marshall and won the sec with Jarrett stidham. His o lines never have issues because it’s scheme not talent.
But yeah he lucked out with cam Newton

Gus hasn't had an effective offense since 14. 17 and 19 were elite defensive play teams. Not sure why anyone would want him as an OC. He is really bad at QB evaluation. Cam and NF fell in his lap.

But with that backfield you can almost make an argument they underachieved on offense but Nutt wasn't doing him any favors
