When Saban flys you in to ask how you did something, you're not overrated.

You clearly haven't done your research on Herman. Fans of his know that he has accomplished more than just one successful year as a head coach. He was an outstanding coordinator before he took over Houston?

Did you notice how much Ohio State's offense regressed when Herman left?

Yeah, and if it's so easy to win at Houston why did Levine get fired. Sumlin didn't exactly leave the program in the shitter.

I am more impressed on what I've read about what he's done since taking over the Houston program, and his coaching philosophy than his record. Not to mention the fact that Texas high school football coaches love this guy, and they are a notoriously tough bunch to please.

I will admit the Mensa thing definitely counts more for me than it probably should given Miles' perceived lack of intelligence. Every time he opens his mouth I cringe. This is the guy that represents the institution of higher learning I received a degree from? The guy can't find a coherent sentence with 2 hands and a flashlight, but I digress...

For all the doubters, do your research before discounting him. He is not Curley Hallman, he's not Sumlin, he's not Malzahn. He does not run a gimmick offense. He game plans and makes adjustments. He is the best coaching prospect I have seen in a long time, probably since Urban Meyer. He is going to be very successful somewhere. I wish it was here.

Feel free to book mark this post.

I think this is what everyone (who doesn't know much about football coaching) thinks when discussing Herman. The people saying he's overrated never have even watched a game by him.

He bases his entire offense on the power run game behind the A and B gaps and solid QB play. IMO, I have never seen a system that benefits dual threat QB play like Herman's. He made the third string Cardale Jones look like Cam Newton. Sumlin just didn't do that.

He's a smart, smart guy who constantly makes adjustments in his gameplan to outstrategize you. He's going to Texas and he will do a complete 360 of where the program is heading right now

I damn sure wouldn't take one year of results and declare him anything.

I for one am cool with whoever comes in after Strong at Texas doing a complete 360. The direction they are currently heading is great.
