Ok theyve won one game against good competetion. Yeah they have a decent offensive scheme but heres a secret most people ignore-hes supposed to be a defensive guy as for ohio being picked over by penn state mich etc. I could say the same thing about Pitt or Ga tech but very few people are calling for wanndstat or paul johnson who have done close to or equal jobs at their schools-yeah they have more old history but so does Minnesota and we see what good that does them

Pitt is probably the best team in the Big East. Outside of two/three Big East teams, year in and out there are not any others that can really compete on a BCS level with regularity.

pitt, cicny, wvu, rutgers, uconn are all solid teams this year

they would probably win a top 5-off with the acc and the big ten

Cincy is a bunch of undersized football players running a very good offensive scheme.

oh, so youre saying that cincy is good bc of coaching...........

Ok? That is really irrelevant this year. Considering everyone in the Big XII except Texas has choked on a dick. The ACC championship was decided between two 7-5 SEC teams in September. Iowa( ) almost won the Big Ten and Cinci beat the second place team in the Pac 10 by 10 at their place.

The Big East is a legit conference right now. WVU is not a bad third place team with.

Stack the Big East against the top 8 of the SeC, Pac10, Big10...even B12 this year as crappy as it is and its no contest. Lets stop pretending.

Ok and? Kelly currently works with the Offense.

The Stache is at his alma mater and before this his best season was a 4 loss season. One more loss than Kelly's worst season at Cinci.

Paul Johnson is only in his second year at Ga. Tech. Do you think someone was going to hire him after one year there? And he runs the triple option. The second one in and of itself disqualifies him from the top positions and most people wanted to see what he'd do in a BCS conference before they hired him

Did you even bother to think about the coaches you picked or did you just pick two random coaches whose name you knew and list them and pray it worked out?

Are you saying a former DEFENSIVE Coordinator is supposed to be an offensive guru?

ETA: Im not saying Kelly is a terrible coach but his accompliments on here or EXTREMELY overated and there are many other coaches who are as good or better canidates

I think Kelly's a great coach, and some team is going to get a good one.

Personally, I would rather have Patterson at TCU. He's a defensive guru. I know they don't play in a great conference, but I've been very impressed with his teams. Also, he knows the ins and outs of Texas so recruiting these areas would not be a problem for him.

I don't think a team could go wrong with either one.

he hasn't coached D since the 80s. he's clearly an offensive guy at this point

if anything it just makes him a more well rounded coach. I don't know why I'm bothering to respond to you though

SEC and Pac 10. For sure the Big East loses

Shitty way to compare.

Lets let all of these conference drop their worst teams and make the Big East keep theirs!

Name me other coaches at lower tier programs with 3 consecutive 10 win seasons. Tip don't say Patterson or Harbaugh.

Cincy beat the only decent teams it has faced by close margins. Oregon St. has similar athletes, would be the only decent comparison in talent between a good BCS school and Cincy.

You also made my point about LSU to a previous poster. Thanks.

And Kelly beat them by double digits at their own place.

You can't sit here and blast him for not beating better teams. He can't make USF or Louisville be better.

How many of those are quality wins. You cant say that our 9-3 record is crap and say his 10 wins are great-Patterson and Harbaugh play a much tougher schedule year in and year out every game. Kelly only had to get his team up for one game. Harbaugh had Oregon state like teams every week. There are three teams in the big east-Cinci Pitt and WVU maybe you could add rutgers in there. Auburn beat WVU.
