He's going to be making over $3 mil a season at LSU, kinda hard for me to feel sorry for him.

Sometimes it pays to be a stand-up guy and stick with a commitment and I hope it works out well for LSU and Les Miles in that way.

AMEN. LSU fans should know all to well how it feels to have a scum bag in your program i.e. Nick "mo money" Saban. Sometimes its not about the dream its about the right thing to do. Don't get me wrong if he goes to the big show he will get 4million and I'm sure the new contract is nothing to pass up..

I feel sorry for him too, but I think winning the SEC and having a potential shot at the MNC softens the blow.

Why do you feel sorry for Miles. I don't disagree that Herbstreit and ESPN all suck. But Miles brought this on himself by never discounting the option to go to Michigan. Now Miles has a sweet deal and will be paid millions from LSU by using his Alma Mater.

You could not be more wrong. Les Miles did NOT use Michigan to parlay a fat contract with LSU. LSU was going to have to make Les Miles one of the three highest paid coaches in the land for his efforts this season anyway. That's what's in his contract right now. Face it, UM blew it. Internal squabbling cost you guys your 'Michign man' and no amount of spin to the contrary will change that.

I won't disagree that U of M did what they were asked. To wait after the SECCG to talk to Les. Maybe they should have snuck into the backdorr and stole Miles, if that is what they wanted.

Miles would have only made that kind of cash if he won the BCS CG. At the time no one had a clue that would happen.

Amen to that. So many improbable things had to happen for LSU to get the the Championship. Especially WV loosing. izzou loosing was not really an upset but was far from a sure thing also).

It's almost like fate (and faith?) was rewarding Les for his selfless actions.

No one wanted to see Mizzou vs. WV, no money in that.

I totally agree. And a further thought I've had is that there is never any "perfection" in this life. I think Les may be glad to be "home" at LSU, but he's said that Michigan will always be special to him. Now I feel bad that with the way all of this played out, he was put in the position of "hurting" Michigan, or making them "look bad" somehow this weekend. That really must weigh on a man of his character. I admire him more and more every time I consider the events since Saturday morning.....

The way the media handled things in recent weeks sucked but since Miles is coaching in the NC game and getting a big fat raise I don't really feel bad for him. It would have been nice to have him at Michigan, but I can't blame him for sticking with LSU. He's got a good thing going there. So to all the LSU fans, congrats and I'll be rooting for you guys to embarass OSU just like Florida.
