Alleva is feeling the heat, he had to let Miles know "correct course" quickly or you are going to force my hand!
Should've been done behind closed doors. Alleva should do what HE feels best, not what the fans want. Yes, Miles deserved to be talked to, but behind closed doors.

he's been taking the heat for 6 years

wow...you really misinterpreted my post. I didn't say anything about him getting a raise....just stated that he's been taking shite for 6 years now.

I think the letter served its purpose. It let everyone know that we aren't paying our football coach top 5 money to finish with 5 and 4 four losses in a season. Our fans motivated our coach to not jump for joy when you beat a team full of 2nd and 3rd string players by a fingernail, or when you need a fluke penalty on the other team to beat a sub .500 team.
This team finished the year with 2 losses and a #8 national ranking. Point well taken!!!

Sure has.
And when I step back and look at my past criticism, it would probably wrong.

Allevas letter was bush league.
That actually is my biggest issue with all of this is that maybe we don't have the right AD.

Folks, if Les Miles loses the Arkansas game in BR in 2009, Miles is most likely fired! (go back and look at the rumbling back then)
My buddy who exchanges text messages with Alleva, was told by alleva, "This is an important season for Miles future at LSU"
Who of us didn't think the same thing this past summer.
Winning changes everything...like perception! aka job security

Sorry but there are other ways to handle a budget situation than destroy your flagship university.
Talk to me when you have a little more life experience too. You were in diapers when this country went through the Jimmy Carter days and had lines to get gasoline.
I totally blame the hack politicians for what is going on with this country. Topic for another board.
Have a Nice Day.

I happen to agree with Alleva's letter. As soon as someone feels "comfortable" they slack, its human nature. This is true for any industry.

people who read state constitutions are the ones who dont have a life.
and yes, part of his agenda is lowering the costs of education. i live in florida, this is the hackneyed sort politics that flourish here and in Bama,
