Do you think we actually might get a couple of coaches from ND after Saturday of ND is out?

Elston
Alexander
Flint

They might be waiting to see if they are coaching in the playoff, then make a decision after that.

If not, that’s ok too. I’m hoping we are closing in on OC and DC.

Elston appears to be staying.

Really want Quinn. He’s been pretty quiet unlike the other guys so I’d guess he comes but who knows

If I’m a coach and I have a chance to not move across the country, uproot my family and money is about even, I’m probably staying where I’ve been.

Quinn has followed BK everywhere but there was a report from a former ND player that he may have some health issues.

I think it's possible.

I just posted something similar in another thread, but I could see a scenario where ND has gotten these guys to say they're staying as a show of solidarity to the selection committee, and if they don't get in the playoff, they shuffle things around a bit.

I think Freeman is HC no matter what.

The rest of the guys, I'm not so sure about. Rees being an alum makes his situation more difficult to gauge, but it seemed like he was close to 50/50 in staying out leaving when the news broke. Also, I don't know why Freeman would want an OC with such little experience. I can't imagine Rees is the guy he would pick if he was getting to start from scratch.

Elston to DC is another head scratcher. He was a co DC for one season 16 years ago. Again, I can't believe that's who a first time HC would choose to rely on to run his defense.

yeah but most of those guys are built different. You're talking about moving to the big boy league, with big boy players, and a raise - hard for a lot of those dudes to say no to the potential for them to get one of these:
