This was more of an Alleva tactic, has Woodward actually done this before? The Mulkey and JJ hires were pretty clandestine until everything was dotted and signed.

Smokescreens are most effective if they include names that are easily attainable. Plus, it gives the impression Woodward is waayyyyyy down his list. Multiple top tier targets are covered by this.
Whacking threads ruins the smokescreen.
