A Tale of Two Programs

In responding to a thread on the Rant about Miles record his last five years I stumbled across an eerily similar comparison.
From 2010 to 2015, Les Miles was 34-14 in conference with a .500 record in Bowl Games.
During the same time frame, Mark Richt was 33-15 in conference with a .500 record in bowl games.
Both were fired.
Both schools hired new coaching staffs. (Georgia in the off season between 2015 and 2016 and LSU a few games in to the 2016 season.)
2016 Conference Records:
Georgia - 4-4 Won Bowl Game
LSU - 5-3 Won Bowl Game
2017 Conference Records:
Georgia - 7-1 - Won 1 Playoff Game - Lost in the National Championship.
LSU - 6-2 - Lost Bowl Game
Based on this info, at least for the off season, I'm not gonna be pissed at O or Ensminger (probably won't be able to help it once the season starts).
This is a Joe Alleva problem.
Two schools in almost identical situations and one knocks it out of the park and the other fricks it up six ways from Sunday?
I'm going to make my best effort to keep all of my anger and frustration laser-focused on Joe Alleva.
I will include some of this information in my communications with TAF regarding ceasing my donations.
I would suggest you all do the same.

Neither survive past 2019 unless a minor miracle is pulled off. Its a perfect storm.
Bad OC hire
Terrible schedule in 2018
If things go pear shaped in 2018 - like 6-6 pear shaped - then our should be #1 recruiting class will be in danger. Dont let anyone give you an excuse on next years recruiting, it may be the best LA class since 2001.
If O loses that, hes donzo, and he will take Alleva with him. We'd have to win 10 in 2019.

I upvoted, however, O deserves plenty of his share as well.
O came to LSU with the specific knowledge that Alleva and Miles were at odds after the 2014 Chavis situation, and he had his aim set directly on the HC position.
He spent the entire 2014 season sitting on his arse in South Lafourche drinking with his buddies in sports radio and the idea was planted that with the right buttons pushed, O could find himself as Johnny on the spot with his previous interim experience.
Once he had the interim tag, his radio army took up the flag and a bumbling PR disaster like Alleva never saw the ambush coming.
Ponamsky got on the LSU payroll at six figures and his talk show buddies got all the access they could ever want.
So yeah, Alleva’s dumb arse was the key, but O deserves every bit of criticism he gets. He earned it.
He didn’t fall into this as some aw shucks hometown boy makes good when offered the job he just couldn’t say no.
O was always out for a HC job. He pouted and quit when he didn’t get it at USC. He publicly and shamelessly begged for the Syracuse job, even though they were smart enough not to even give him an interview, and he went behind Miles’ back at every opportunity to bad mouth him to Alleva, who just happened to be dumb enough to buy it.

Wow! Way to pick your facts. Here is where the schools differ:
UGA - hired a whole new staff with a sought after coordinator.
LSU - promoted a position coach that nobody wanted and kept staff in place.
UGA - Beat MSU by 30 and defeated a top 10 Notre Dame in OOC play.
LSU - Lost to MSU by 30 and lost to lowly Troy in OOC play.
UGA - Won the SEC
LSU - Never in the conversation for an SEC Championship.
UGA - Made the CFP, beat OU and played for the National Title.
LSU - Lost to Notre Dame in the Bowl game, fired its one year offensive coordinator and hired a 60 year old staff member as OC who hasn’t been one in 20 years and wasn’t a successful one at that time.
I HATE JOE ALLEVA!!!!

Did you just angrily agree with me?

I think some of you guys are forgetting one major item. Georgia sits in the East and doesn't go through Bama every single year. LSU sits in the hardest division of the hardest conference.

Imagine how badly 0 would fold if he lost a veteran QB starter and had to go with a true freshman.
