A Proven Experienced DC?

We are still the defending national champions. Seems like a program like LSU should be looking at top-tier DC candidates. Proven coordinators that have YEARS of experience as a DC, calling plays, and recruiting.
All I'm really hearing is Derek Mason's name and honestly I think that would be atrocious. He only has ONE full year as a DC (not even in the SEC) and his recruiting at Vandy was practically non-existent. Are there no experienced, proven DC candidates out there that would WANT to coach at LSU?? We have another top 5 recruiting class coming in. Just seems like a no-brainer that a veteran DC would want to come here.

Seems whoever there is pulling the strings is lazy as hell. Been that way since Alleva. But Mason can't be as bad as Pelini right?

He isn't the only name I'm hearing, but his name comes up the most is what I meant. And I don't really know why.

It's difficult to recruit football players at Vandy. This is not a surprise to anyone.

His predecessor at Vandy, James Franklin, recruited much better than him.
