A couple of questions...

I've been reading the Coaching Changes board since it was started to see what ya'll thought about the situation. I just have a couple of questions that I would like cleared up..
1. Is it true that Miles has a claus in his contract that there is no buy out if he goes to Michigan? I have seen that he does, and that he doesn't on this board.
2. From what I understand, Nick Saban has no buyout at all on his contract w/ Bama. True?
3. Does the majority of you believe that Miles leaving is a lock?
4. Would Pellini leaving really be a bad thing?
Thanks guys.

No. There is a specific buyout if he does go to Michigan.

There is a buyout of 500k if he leaves for another school. However, if he leaves for UM the buyout is 1.25 mil.

--yes, he has a $1.25 Million buyout if he goes to Michigan.

-- True
3. Does the majority of you believe that Miles leaving is a lock?
--Absolute certainty
4. Would Pellini leaving really be a bad thing?
--Yes, not a recruiter. Defense was sub-par after the USCe game, his lack of focus on his current team led to a loss vs Arky.
Jon Tenuta or Will Muschamp would be upgrades IMO.

Ok.. I had heard that it was the opposite. That UM would have a smaller buyout than other schools. Thanks for clearing that up.

Actually it is a little more detailed than that. On page 10 of the 20 page contract it specifically says "...(coach) will not seek nor will he accept employment as a football coach at the University of Michigan..."

Yes Les Miles or Michgan would have to pay 1.25 Mill. Here is the agreement:
quote:
"Coach covenants and agrees that as part of the consideration of this agreement he will not seek nor will he accept employment as a football coach at the University of Michigan for the term of this agreement. It being expressly understood that should coach accept employment at the University of Michigan, coach shall pay to the University (LSU) in lieu of all other legal remedies, liquidated damages in the sum of one million two hundred fifty thousand ($1,250,000.00) dollars and will forfeit any claim to funds under Section 11 of this contract."
2. Irrelevant IMO
3. Who knows for sure? The vast majority on herre believe it.

Yes. Nebraska isn't going to hire a guy they think is no good. Tom Osborne is running the show. Pelini has put up Top Notch Defensive Numbers during his time at LSU, he will be harder to replace than most think.
