Les Miles had to make the announcement before the SECCG because so much was riding on that game, and the game to follow.
The fact that Lincoln Riley is not standing on the roof top announcing that he's staying at OU speaks volumes.
OU has so much riding on these next few games. It's the time when the team likely needs that support.

Not totally. Miles only did that because Herbstriet said he was taking Michigan job on tv that morning. Gameday is a still talking about Jimbo and LSU.
