Ya the 3 spanish actors leaked are all likely Ghealdan nobility, and there is a 4th is from somewhere else and assumed to be an Aes Sedai advisor

There are likely Covid restrictions so they just decided to hire an experienced crew and film it all in Spain and try to have it as self contained as possible.

It does make me wonder...we know that people have seen the first 3 episodes. It makes me wonder if they thought there wasn't enough of Logain and thought it his storyline was too tacked on so they are expanding it, or if they planned all this all along.

From what I watched, it seemed like this was planned - they had the castle scouted, etc. well before filming got shut down again. If you think about it, this is probably right about when filming would have wrapped up if this second shutdown hadn't happened - so they may have just been always planning on coming here for these scenes after wrapping up all the filming in the Czech Republic.

I feel like it didn't even need to be said, but the WOT community is weird.

WOTonPrime social announced that there won't be a WOT trailer or clip during a Super Bowl ad, or anytime soon.

They do plan to have a little something for the community within the next month (sounded like something what the have done, a brief 10-ish second making of highlighting something like they have done previously (Rand's sword, Thom's guitar).

For some reason there were a bunch of posts from people on various sites thinking it was possible, which is why the WOTonPrime account put it to bed.

Those people are nuts.

Seriously - seems like a terrible way to spend $4 million or whatever the cost is these days.

Rosamund Pike was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress for the film "I Care A Lot".

If she wins I wonder if it affects the profile of the show?

(She is a producer on the show so I don't think it will make her less likely to be on it in the future).

Minor update:

One of the casting updates from october, one of the guys was revealed to be Ingtar. So they are definitely incorporating some of the beginning of TGH (I realize Ingtar briefly appears in Eye).

Yep I think it makes most sense to have the final episode essentially be the horn getting stolen.

GOT was really successful doing - 2nd to last episode being the big battle type thing, climax of the season, and the last episode had some more character type stuff and usually a set-up for next season.

So for WoT, episode 7 being the blight and eye of the world (if they go that route, I highly doubt we see a big battle with the forsaken as it is written in the books since it comes out of nowhere) and then episode 8 is dealing with Rand, that early book 2 stuff with him being worried about the Aes Sedai and then the attack / horn getting stolen.

I like it although I had an even bigger ruby in my head haha. It is crazy how vivid an image I have of the characters, locations and props like dagger. I know some people don't like Jordan's level of description, but I don't think there is another series that I have such a clear picture of in my mind.

Hopefully we got some news about final shooting ramping up and anticipated release dates soon. Trailers would be a month or two before release probably (they don't like people to forget).

People are relatively sure there are some more shoots scheduled for April, but no one knows as to what extent.

One report was it was just pickup shoots which are relatively minor, but no one is certain.

You would think the first 6 episodes are pretty much in the can.

a I have been kind of hoping with all the filming problems the would decide to deo something like episodes 1-4 put out on once a week in June and then end of summer finish off the season after they get through with filming. That may be a bad idea in terms of getting people excited for the show goin forward, not sure if it would be a smart move or not.

It also seems like doing a bunch of filming for Season 2 whenever they start back up would make sense (I have no idea how this shite works, just thinking about costs) Getting the entire crew and all out there, the props, etc. to just finish up 2 episodes and then go home and come back a couple months later to film season 2 seems like it would be wasteful.

I do not think Season 2 has officially been greenlit. They have greenlit writing the scripts like over a year ago, but no official pickup of a season 2. It would make a LOT of sense to do that though.

It seems that the final cut from the dagger video has some weirdness going on.

SPOILERS: The internet is thinking that it is Mordeth possessing the dagger. Which is a solid enough change IMO for two reasons. (1) It makes matt's possession and general moodiness a much more active thing so he has a real character arc. (2) Will also help ground the padan fain / mordeth combo as a primary antagonist. The show has a chance to really play with that one given that Sanderson left it as a loose end - as long as they make it to the end it will be nice to finally have a conclusion and some closure on that one.

I really can't make out what the last bit is supposed to be and neither can anyone else.
It looks to me like the beginnings of a intro like the serpent ring or even a dragon but I can't see shite.

Ya that just seems kind of an odd easter egg to me.

I hope they do have a cool intro - maybe something like the GOT but maybe incorporating the whole "wind" opening sequence - like somehow following the wind as it whips through different cities and locations in the world (this may be too similar to GOT to work).

I just hope they give a nod to the intro sequence somewhere in the show without it being too over the top.

This youtube guy (WoT Up) says he is hearing that season 1 filming likely wrapping up by end of May!

Also mentions some season 3 tidbits and likely story for that season - mostly speculation but he seems to have a lot of people in the know who he gets info from.

LINK

Also talks about how Wheel of Time is getting mentioned in stuff like Vogue, Esquire and other mainstream media. Seeing more and more of that stuff run mainstream is a really good sign that Amazon is betting big on WoT IMO - those kind of stories definitely are pushed behind the scenes a lot of time.

Fall release seems likely, hopefully more teasers and a full length trailer released soon.

I'm starting to get really excited - I remember back when the internet seemed really new (using Windows 95) looking at potential casting threads and never thinking this series would get its own show.

I'm very confident in a really good telling, seems like the money is there, they are hiring talented people for all facets and all the changes I've heard about seem designed to highlight the spirit of the story and the characters for delivery in a different media format.

So, is Wheel of Time more like Game of Thrones or The Lord of the Ring?
