Open with a playful boyish scene involving a badger in a sack in Matt's hands, coaxing along a reluctant Rand and Perrin, getting cold busted by the wisdom, with a smirking Egwene behind her, which is all Rand seems to notice.

Then transition to find it was a memory of Rands as he daydreamed on the walk into town with Tam for the festival, awkwardly looking forward to the chance to dance with her.

You could do that in a minute and provide a pretty hefty info dump.

Then the Fade shows up behind them on the trail...

Every effort should have been made to present the boys as not - yet - men, sincere and innocent. It doesn't seem right that Perrin has facial hair already

They are all aged up for the show - due to the very real fear that it would come off as some YA bullshite like Shannarah and bomb.

I can see that, I guess. But the coming - of – age stories of all the main characters are central to their arcs.

Absolutely, I'm interested to see how it all meshes together as its going to be a very different version of the Wheel of Time story.

LUVDOC & MFNGimp: Look at the video for the songs because it has a different version of the recently released poster.

The image of the fade on that poster is much better.

As for Natasha O'Keefe potentially being Lanfear I just started a reread in anticipation of season 1 and I was trying to think of who they would cast as Lanfear considering how she is described. I don't really see this lady as Lanfear but there is also no actress I can think of that would be able to come close to how she is described in the books so I don't have an issue with is as long as she can give off the correct vibe.

I think a lot of people are speculating Elaida now.

Ya plus Lanfear doesn't come across as one of the most important characters IMO.

Also, I've been listening to the Dusty Wheel youtube stuff. They go pretty in depth but I put it on in the background while working and have been enjoying the deep dives.

Fun fact is that Sanderson actually wrote Matt and The Dusty Wheel into the book (The Dusty Wheel Inn was in one of the last 3). He has apparently been a big WoT theory guy since the beginning and has a ton of mega nerds on as guests.

As a fun exercise, I tried to map out Seasons 2 and 3 so that stuff would happen fast enough for the show to work. I had to make the hunting party split up between Tear and Falme, change which Aes Sedai went with the group, send one group through Saldea, insert several characters traveling the ways to get to Falme - but it may make more sense for them to go to Tear instead but they dont' really have a task or reason for that.

Sped up Perrin / Two Rivers shite into Season 3 and I cut out tanchico because it was hard to make sense in my timeline but then that had a cascade of ripple effects trying to go back and make sure people where where they needed to be for certain important events and that also ended up leaving some characters with nothing to do while other threads wrapped up.

I got a pretty decent map for Season 2, it is very different in some places but the new elements are, for the most part, pulled from other books or given to a different character because they are in the right spot at the right time.

Season 3 is a little rough in certain spots, mainly regarding Nyn and Elayne, but could work their storyline around some. I did a little pre-map of Season 4 to see if it will work and am going to go back and change around Season 3 after seeing how it looks.

Well, we know the Perrin/2 Rivers plot is planned to happen in S3, because several of the 2 Rivers actors have said they were told they would return for s3.

Which means that:

SPOILERS

SPOILERS

The Stone has to have fallen by the end of S2, so S2 combines large elements of Books 2 and 3, which makes total and complete sense and is one of the easiest "combines". That means Faile appears in S2, the Aiel, the Seanchan, etc

Since Perrin disappears in Book 5, I could see them combining Books 4 and 5 for Season 3 and stretching his plotline across the entire season while events are going on elsewhere with Rand etc. Book 4 and 5 I do feel like a lot of the Aiel Waste journey can be condensed into 2 episodes, and the Rings of Rhuidean taking up a large portion of a 3rd along with He Who Comes with the Dawn.

You basically have to do 1.5 - 2 books a season to make it work considering expanded and that Season 1 is basicaly just EotW plus expanded stuff.

But combining Books 2 and 3 is challenging regarding who does what and where, and how that rippled down throughout the story.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS (And what amounts to fanfiction trying to work books 2 and 3 into taking place in season 2)

I did it by having Rand / Hurin do the Flicker Flicker thing, Selene like egging Rand on about B'alzamon, tear, taking callandor, etc. and when they flicker / flicker back, they end up outside Caemlyn or something, meet thom there, introduce morgase / rhavin rumors there and then those 3 go to tear, rand sneaks in, etc. and grabs callandor, they fight and when the horn is blown, you get this cool shot showing imagery / flashes of the fight in tear above Falme as well.

Perrin, Alanna, Sheinerians start follwing via wolves, these scenes play out simiarly except that they go through Saldea maybe, meet fail, get a ship down to bandar Eban area to get ahead of the Fain, who has joined up with the whitecloaks and they steal the horn / dagger.

It should be noted here that Matt was spearated from the dagger and he did not have to have it on him, but did need to be healed in the tower. So he goes to the white tower with Moiraine, verin and the girls. Egwene gets some sort of premonition drea, verin gives her a dream ter'angeral and we get that storyline started. She has a dream that she tells either verin or moiraine about that places her in Falme. They get tested for accepted, matt is heald and has his galad / gawyn fight. Elayne asks matt to take her mom a note (maybe? could be too soon for that and it isn't necessary I don't think) so when they go missing, matt, verin and moirainge travel the ways to with loial so they show up in Falme via the ways in time to join up with perrin, maybe they steal the dagger - not sure how to make that work.

Season 3 starts off and Verin / Alanna / perrin go back to two rivers as fain is headed there with whitecloacks (I think you could maybe merge Fain and Slayer in some fashion instead of Lord Luc, but doesn't really matter how that plays out). This largely follows the plotline through big trolloc battle.

Rand is in tear, reads a bunch of shite, berelain, aeil, etc. for the first couple episodes. Moiraine and them show up from a boat - perhaps Bayle Domon's - (Moiraine may have stopped in Illian or something and found out about Sammael instead of the traveling tht happens in Book 3). Moiraine, Matt, Rand, etc. plotline follows Book 4 from here showing Rhuidean in epsiode 4 or so and then to where the go to cold rocks hold (I htink) where they both announce Coramoor and him and Asmodean travel / fight over choden kal.

The tower politics have been shown to be rough for a while, min goes to tower - instead of doing Tanchico, I am thinking that Nyn, Elayne, Min, maybe Galad or kind of group goes all the way to Tar Valon to bring horn / dagger to Suian. But Siun sends them away on "penance" because of her concerns over black ajah and so peopel won't talk (Min stays in tower due to visions). But anyway the schism / stilling happens sort of 2/3 of the way through I think, min helps them escape at tend of season. Elayn and Nyn get a message to leave the penance area and they go to find salidar).

At that point most people will be generally in the right spot through season 3 - i probably would have been showing some Caemlyn stuff there as well introducing morgase (unless they plan to cut her out). Rand probably takes Cairhein early in season 4, big Moiraine shite happens / maybe rhavin fight in mid-season 4 and Dumais wells at end of Season 4. Egwene is becomes A.S. near end of Season 4 - sends approprate people for Bowl of the winds (I am not sure if they are doing the SeaFolk or not, but if so - probably would be SeaFolk who take them from Falme to Tear in beginning of Season 3).

Its been kind of fun so I'm going to work on it off and on and see if I can map out what I would have done were I trying to make it work in 8 seasons of 8 episodes each.

Books 7-10 can definitely easily be done in 2 seasons at most.

One of the biggest problems I ran into was trying to avoid people just zipping all over the map (won't be as much of an issue after traveling) and trying to avoid Game of Thrones style teleportation stuff.

I think you are going to see whole plot points/adventures evaporate.

I think more get merged into one, at least the major ones, some of the minor stuff will definitely get the boot.

Tanchico, the male a'dam, etc. I'm not sure will happen but it could get moved to tear or even could have a Moghedian battle in Falme. Basically after the girls leave the tower in Season 2, sending them back and then sending them back out doesn't make sense. Although, I think they may elevate another character that remains in the tower being trained so we have some sympathetic character in there when Egwene goes back.

Morgase plotline is another one that could get cut and free up a lot of time.

Cool - here is a twitter link for those without insta. LINK They look better than I had hoped honestly.

They had that poster yesterday with Moiraaine and the trolloc head.

LINK

The weaves at the bottom of the poster and the shadowspawn video look really good, i'm hoping they can get them to look that refined in motion in the show at some point.

I think what we saw from channeling in the trailer may have been sort of the result of the channeling and not the actual weaves.

The official account basically admitted that the last voice in the trailer "You can't outrun a fade" was not Moiraine's voice. Responding to a Scottish fan saying that it had a scottish tinge to the voice.

Interesting - i'm guessing someone rand and matt run in to after they all split up at S.L.

And it looks like a lot of trolloc shots are probably from Taren Ferry
