And is it worth the read? I read the first 3 10 years ago probably now and just wondering if the 3tj was worth my time

I think it's Inheritance, but no. I'm tempted to spoil it because it is probably the single worst ending of all time to a series. You would laugh your arse off if I were to tell you the stupid ending.

I would read your spoilers.

I read the first two way back when they first came out. I tried picking up the 3rd years later but couldn't finish. Never bothered to read how it wrapped up.

For a series that started out with decent promise it really found a way to end on a low note. I was extremely disappointed.

ETA: And that movie was atrocious.

I agree. I think the story got worse over the course of the entire series. That being said, I've read through all four books at least 5 or 6 times. It's like a guilty pleasure. Everyone in here is correct though in the resolution for Galbatorix was a real WTF moment. I'm sure Paolini thought he was being deep and emotional with it, but that final battle was probably the biggest letdown in any book I have ever read.
