I've been waiting for them to go after Faulkner with the ban hammer.
I personally think he is a genius and the greatest author America has ever produced. A lot of academics agree which is probably the only reason he has been spared so far.

Owner of said book decides to no longer publish said book and people are complaining about censorship and bans?

It's the Seuss estate self-censoring their own books. Not "banning." Still, a little bit annoying to not be able to even look at a book that has been deemed offensive, even if it is not the government doing the censorship.

I don't think that's the correct author.

Then why don't you stick to the Auburn board if this board is full of racist nazis like you seem to think?
If I tell you then it won't come true.

Okay, I understand where you're coming from, but that isn't the same as banning books at all.
That's a company making a decision to not keep churning out old books. Whatever reasoning behind it is their own.
And you can go look at the book. Do you think they are sweeping the streets, gobbling up any versions of these books that have ever existed and throwing them into a fire? Find the book somewhere and buy it.
I think it would be more problematic if the Seuss estate was barred from stopping their production of these books.

Its a fact. Why would I lie about that?

They have. Why don't you go make a thread about it to see if I'm lying.

It is if you have faith that the creator of the universe and everything you see around you has the ability to deliver His words to man through inspiration to men. If not, then it is no harm no foul to you as it’s just words on paper.

I think I would prefer an added prologue to all new editions of the 6 books in question with an acknowledgment by the Seuss estate of the depictions and whatever apology they see fit to issue.
People get annoyed by the trigger warnings at the beginning of a lot of stuff on Disney+ now, but they at least show the content in its entirety rather than hiding it (except for say Song of the South, which Disney has pretty much pretended never happened).
Have the best of both world. An acknowledgment that the depictions don't conform to the current beliefs of the Seuss estate, but still publishing the books for all to read.

Understood, and I think that may be the most rational course of action, but at the end of the day it's their estate.
I just don't think it's worth getting up in arms over when it's a single entity deciding that they are doing something for reasons on which we don't have insight.
I also think it's disingenuous to lump it into the category of "banning books" which is something entirely different.

Any book you think you want to read multiple times or that you want your children / grandchildren to definitely read should be purchased

If you have kids or grandkids, pick up Rush's First Patriots series and William Bennett's Book of Virtues. Those kids are going to be taught a whole different history soon.
