are you actually so delusional that we don’t see that you are virtue signaling, preening, and posing...instead of hoping your “READ!” decree will actually be obeyed ?

Are people who bitch about very specific virtue-signaling so delusional that they don't recognize that the act of calling out virtue-signaling is itself an act of virtue-signaling?

you haven't really given any reason as to why read is worse than say a political bumper sticker.

Yes, i did. Explicitly and in great detail. READ!

As to political stickers specifically, they are just signaling affiliation to a tribe. No different than a sports team sticker. A sticker saying “Go Dawgs” or “Roll tide” isn’t commanding Dawgs to Go! or tides to Roll! in order to bring on pie in the sky utopia.

Unlike the command of “READ!” Which does exactly that.

You seem to be singling this one out of an ocean of terrible bumper stickers for tenuous at best reasoning

Its the book board, genius. Should I have started a thread about the sticker that says “Im all out of sick days, Guess Ill call in DEAD!” ??

And one school’s marquee was congratulating all of their “million word readers”.

I hear you. I honestly wish I could UN-read about 80% of the garbage I was required to read in schools.

Reading on its own isnt some kind of key to enlightenment. Not to mention that the majority of “writers” are mentally ill and of the commie tilt. Just like in any other area of the arts.

Virtue privilege. Got it

Where do I go to atone? Is there a READ! sticker owner that will let me wash their feet?:

What does it say about you, that you consider reading a virtue?

Why would I criticize the READ! sticker if I thought reading was anything close to resembling a virtue?

If I thought reading was a virtue, I’d get a READ! sticker, apply it to my bumper, and then go get a frapachino while listening to NPR with a permanent frown on my face

I don’t think the Read bumper sticker is as cringey as other things people put on their cars

By trade, I am a librarian and I would never put a read sticker on my car

If reading isn't a virtue, how is a "READ!" bumper sticker virtue signaling?
