Man just finished this up today so figured we could get a spoilers discussion going.
What a way to wrap up era 2, I did a complete reread of era 2 prior to this one. Wayne was by far my favorite character in this era, so sad to see him go but man he went out with a bang.
Loved all the connections to the other worlds of the cosmere really cool to see all of these books coming together.

This was a great ending to a great series. Wayne was the best.
I need the last book of the first stormlight series to come out so I can read that series.

If you’re into audiobooks, the narrator, Michael Kramer, does a FANTASTIC job with Wayne and all his voices/accents.
Cliche, I know, but really brings the character of Wayne to life.

It was a great ending. I held out hope for a little while that Wayne would survive, and I did not love that woman getting his money, to be honest.
But otherwise fitting ending to a great Era.
I have to think the stakes in Era 3 will be much much higher, as Era 2 wasn't even originally planned by him

Loved that those two guys from Wayne’s estate are still delivering things to Wax so long after the explosion in the epilogue.
Also, Wax making the metal to create Mistborn again was interesting. Suppose that is going to play a part in Era 3.
Interesting that Kal can’t use any powers and is essentially searching for a way to restore that to himself, while also being the leader of the ghost bloods.

I read the original. I didn't know there was an Era two. Will check it out.

I thought book 4 was "The Alloy of Law"?
Don't know much about the series...saw it recommended here and picked it up about a month ago. Digging it so far.
I just finished the third and my kindle told me the next one was "The Alloy of Law".
Is that wrong?

The Alloy of Law is Book 1 in the 2nd Era of Mistborn.
So yeah, I guess yes it is the 4th book overall.
3 Books in the First Era of Mistborn
4 books in the 2nd Era (Alloy of Law being the first and Lost Metal being the 4th)
There will be two more Eras planned
Era 1: Vaguely Middle Ages
Era 2: Western/Industrial Revolution
Era 3: 80's/90s Computer Age
Era 4: Sci Fi
AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T READ ANYMORE OF THIS THREAD, way too many spoilers

I won’t- but holy cow! 80/90s?!? What a great idea. I can’t even imagine what it will be like- matrix maybe?
I am excited to start the second era.

I don't want to say too much, but I should have said the general idea he had was that the technology of the age of Era 3 would be somewhat similar to our 80's/early 90s computer age, but with the obvious Mistborn magic system involved, set on Scadrial, their world.
he hasn't started writing it yet and it could change.

Which means he could have it out I. Like 6 months. I kid of course, just a compliment to his speed and a dig a Rothfuss and the Fat Man

Am I the only one who thinks the interconnected Cosmere idea is the worst part of Sanderson’s recent work? His magic system and idea of following a fantasy world like Scadrial thru eras is great, it doesn’t need Ghostbloods from other worlds and confusing crossovers with books like Elantris or Warbreaker that I read 10+ years ago. Same thing with Stormlight Archive, I’ve read it all and Shadesmar still makes no sense to me. Every mention of the shards of adonalsium makes my eyes glaze over. Sanderson is a great writer, but I had to go to coppermind.net every couple chapters to understand what was going on in The Lost Metal.
