Very quietly last month, “La Belle Sauvage” the first book in Philip Pullman’s new trilogy, finally released after a decade and a half.

Anybody pick this up and what have they thought so far? I loved the original His Dark Materials and hope this can live up to it. Ordered the other day through Amazon and it’s coming today. Would have completely forgotten about it if The Golden Compass (terrible movie) hadn’t been tv randomly the other day.

Hmmm...did not realize this.

I enjoyed the series, but felt that it started stronger than it finished. First book was awesome and second was good, but the third was kind of bad. Seemed like it was rushed to get to the end or something.

Pretty much my thoughts. I really enjoyed the first two, but the third was very underwhelming. Not really seeing the point in a new trilogy based with the ending of the first either.
