For those of you that enjoy TEOTWAWKI books, one of the best series I’ve read has a fourth book coming out on August 22.
If you read the series, will you be buying the fourth book in the series? Personally, I would love to see a movie series made of the novels.
Synopsis:
From William R. Forstchen, the New York Times bestselling author of the One Second After series, comes Five Years After, a near-future thriller where John Matherson must contend with new threats to the fragile civilization that he helped rebuild.
Five years after The Final Day, the Republic of New America has all but collapsed into regional powers and the world at large is struggling to remain stable as regional conflicts ravage the post EMP landscape. After several years attempting to lead a quiet life, John Matherson receives the news that the President is dying from a possible assassination attempt, and is asked to step in to negotiate with what appears to be a new military power hidden in the wreckage of the world.
Pulled back into the fray, John struggles to hold the tottering Republic together. Facing threats on multiple fronts, he races against time to stop another EMP attack on the former United States and China, putting years of progress at risk. With so much of his work under threat, John must find the strength within to start over, so that he can save the country and the people that he holds dear from even greater calamity.

Thanks! I’ve read all three, but didn’t know a fourth was in the works. Yess, a one second after movie would be awesome!!! It could very well drive a cultural revolution to prepping and get people to open their eyes.

I read One Second After a couple of weeks ago but I didn't know it was a series. It was a really depressing book but I'm ready to be hurt again. Ordering the 2nd book now.

Damn, didn't know a 4th was planned.
Been a while since I've read the 3rd will have to find a recap.

Great series. The third was a bitch of a stretch to keep it going. This fourth one sounds like an even bigger stretch to extend the series

My hold just got released? Is it worth the time investment. Really like the first two and the third was kinda meh.

I didn't think it was very good

I had time so I went ahead and read it. I felt the ending was rushed. Either the build up should have been shortened or the ending extended.
Definitely setting up for a fifth book on the continued infrastructure build out.

Neither did I but a lot of that was/is because the main character, John .... his bullying, anger management issues shtick gets old.
Post shtf teotwawki irl someone would make short work of his bravo sierra tyrant ways.
The author failed-to advance and grow John imho.
I'll probably still read 4 though, sans meth heads, cannibals and generally evil bad guys I'm sure .... with John pitching fits in front of "his kids" and ordering mass public executions without mercy.

If you weren’t a fan of that, you’ll enjoy one of the lines from the main antagonist in the fourth book
